How to Commission a Custom Artwork with Me

A commission is a collaboration. You bring a story, a space, or a devotion; I bring materials, experience, and attention. Together we create a work that belongs only to you.

Sharing the Idea

Everything begins with conversation. You describe the subject—sacred icon, portrait, landscape, or jewellery design—the size you’re considering, and the feeling you want the piece to carry. Reference images can be helpful, but a few clear sentences are often enough.

Agreement and Sketch

Once we align on scope and timeline, I create a simple sketch or color study. This step confirms composition, gesture, and mood. It is the best moment to adjust the idea: closer gaze or softer expression, lighter palette or deeper tones.

The Making

With the plan in place, I begin. I work in focused stages—drawing, block-in, modeling, finishing—sharing progress at key points so you feel informed without losing the surprise of the final reveal. Materials are chosen for longevity; for paintings, I let layers dry properly so surfaces remain beautiful over time.

Finishing and Delivery

When the piece is complete, I photograph it in natural light. After approval, I varnish (for paintings), sign, and prepare safe packaging. Care notes accompany every work so it can be enjoyed for many years.

What a Commission Becomes

More than an object, a commission is a marker of meaning: a prayer, a memory, a place held on canvas, or a portrait that keeps someone close. My role is to make that meaning visible—with clarity, dignity, and warmth.
